Your Path to Clarity & Hope

Recognizing warning signs is a key step in getting support. For many, receiving an accurate diagnosis is the first step toward treatment. Unlike physical health conditions, there’s no simple medical test for mental illness. Mental health professionals use the DSM (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders) to assess symptoms.

Getting a diagnosis is only the first step. Mental health treatments vary by person, condition, and preference. Treatment options may include medication, therapy, social support, and education.

Delivering compassionate, evidence-based services.

At Chelly & Cam's Hope Foundation, we take pride in offering a wide range of supportive programs designed to empower individuals and families facing mental health challenges. Our focus is on delivering compassionate, evidence-based services that are tailored to meet the unique needs of those we serve.
Here are some of the key offerings that distinguish our foundation.

Sharing Your Story

This program trains peers and families to share their stories during law enforcement trainings, such as Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) training.

Peer-to-Peer

Peer-to-Peer is a class for adults living with mental health conditions. This course promotes growth, healing, and recovery among participants through shared experiences and peer support.

Meet Our Founder

GET TO KNOW SHAREE JORDAN

Welcome to the Chelly & Cam Hope Foundation. My name is Sharee Jordan, and I am the co-founder. Our foundation is rooted in a real-life experience: my son developed psychosis at the age of 13, which significantly altered my life. I faced the challenges of caring for a child who was once leading a normal life, and I found myself in denial, seeking help for over a year. Eventually, I made the decision to place my son in a program for assistance, marking the beginning of my journey into mental health advocacy.

When my son returned home at 15, I gained a deeper understanding of mental illness, allowing me to support him effectively while raising awareness among other mothers. My son, now 18, is living with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.

My mission is to serve as an advocate and establish a resourceful nonprofit organization that promotes mental health awareness across all platforms. Through this journey, I have learned that individuals facing mental health challenges require increased support, resources, and assistance to navigate their daily lives.

FIVE SIGNS IT'S TIME FOR A CHECK IN

Recognizing When to Seek Help

chellyArtboard 16.png

Having Persistant Feelings of Sadness or Anxiety

If you're feeling overwhelmed by sadness, anxiety, or worry that doesn’t go away, it might be time to seek support. Mental health professionals can help you navigate these emotions and find relief.

Difficulty Managing Daily Tasks

Struggling with daily responsibilities like work, school, or personal care can indicate that you’re not coping as well as you might think. Mental health professionals can provide strategies to manage daily functioning.

Changes in Sleep
or Appetite

Significant changes in sleep patterns or appetite—like insomnia, excessive sleeping, sudden weight loss or gain—can be indicators of underlying mental health issues.

Withdrawal from Social Activities

If you’re withdrawing from friends, family, or activities you once enjoyed, it could signal something deeper that a mental health professional can help address.

Persistent Anger or Irritability

Constant anger or irritability, affecting your relationships and daily life, might be a sign that you're struggling with mental health. Seeking professional help can offer support and coping strategies.

Mental Health Awareness: Check on Your Loved Ones

Mental illness is an ongoing battle. As a mother, I pray daily for a miracle, walking in faith. We must start taking mental health seriously and pour love into the world—mother to mother, friend to friend, family to family, community to community. Mental health affects our loved ones every day. Recognizing the signs of mental health challenges is the first step toward support.

Mental illness is an ongoing battle, a silent struggle that too many face alone. As a mother, I pray daily for a miracle, walking in faith, and hoping for understanding and compassion in our communities. We must start taking mental health seriously and actively pour love into the world—mother to mother, friend to friend, family to family, community to community.

Recognizing the signs of these challenges is the crucial first step toward offering support and creating a safe space for open conversations. If you are concerned about someone, don’t hesitate to reach out and offer a listening ear or a gentle nudge towards professional assistance. Together, we can help each other navigate through the darkness.

Shining a Light on Mental Health: Statistics that Inspire Change

Let’s transform stigma into solutions.

Youth & Young Adults

Youth face unique mental health challenges due to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. We must provide young people with the education, care, and support they need.

The Criminal Justice System

People with mental illness deserve help, not handcuffs. Yet they are overrepresented in jails and prisons. Reducing criminal justice involvement and increasing mental health care is crucial.
